Lucky Herp Lamp Shade – 21.5 cm
A compact reflector shade that can be used with a suitable heat lamp to provide overhead warmth for chicks in a brooder.
The reflective interior helps direct heat downwards, creating a focused warm area while allowing chicks to move away from the heat when they become too warm. This makes it easier to create the warm-to-cool temperature gradient chicks need in a brooder.
The 21.5 cm size is particularly useful for smaller brooders and backyard chick-raising setups.
Features
21.5 cm diameter
Suitable for use with compatible heat lamps
Helps direct heat down towards chicks
Creates a focused warm area within the brooder
Compact size for smaller brooders
Suitable for backyard chick raising
Why we like it
A heat lamp should provide chicks with access to warmth without heating the entire brooder to the same temperature.
Positioning the lamp over one area allows chicks to move towards or away from the heat according to their needs. This gives them the opportunity to regulate their temperature while maintaining a cooler area within the brooder.
Important
Always use with a compatible heat lamp and globe, following the manufacturer's instructions.
Heat lamps and reflectors can become extremely hot. Ensure the lamp is securely mounted and positioned well away from bedding, cardboard, timber and other flammable materials.
Always monitor your brooder temperature and the behavior of your chicks. Chicks should have enough space to move freely between the warm and cooler areas.
NB. This does not come with any heat bulb, this is to be selected separately
